What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle and powerful Japanese energy healing practice that restores balance and harmony to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words. Rei, meaning Higher Power, and Ki, meaning life force energy. Together they describe something profound: spiritually guided life force energy, an invisible but ever present force that flows through all living things.
This life force energy moves throughout the body via energy centres and pathways, responding to everything we think, feel, say, and experience. From the moment you reach out, the energy begins to move. Subtle shifts start to unfold, bursts of clarity, new awareness, and beautiful synchronicities that often emerge as soon as you book your Reiki session on Prince Edward Island.
Your Reiki Experience at Red Sands Reiki lasts approximately 75 minutes and takes place in a warm, sacred space created entirely for your healing and comfort. You will remain fully clothed and recline on a Reiki table, though seated sessions are also available if needed.
As a Reiki Master Teacher, I work intuitively, placing my hands in various positions on or above the body for varying lengths of time. During your energy healing session you may notice warmth, tingling, or coolness moving through the body. Emotions may arise and energetic blockages may gently release. Most people experience a profound sense of relaxation, as though a glowing radiance is flowing through and around them, restoring balance, clarity, and deep inner peace.
You will be fully nurtured and supported throughout your entire experience, with time set aside after the session to ensure you feel grounded and ready before returning to the world.
To further deepen your holistic healing experience, complementary modalities such as neuro linguistic programming, tuning forks, crystals, and empowering hypnotic suggestions may be intuitively woven into your session.
As an energetic art, Reiki transcends time and space. In addition to in-person Reiki sessions on PEI, distant Reiki healing is also available, allowing you to receive the full benefits of energy healing from the comfort of your own home. Reiki Certification
At Red Sands Reiki, Reiki certification on Prince Edward Island is rooted in the lineage and practice of Usui Shiki Ryoho, the Usui System of Natural Healing. This time honoured tradition spans generations and connects you to something far greater than a weekend course. It connects you to a living lineage of healers.
First Degree Reiki Certification is offered throughout the year in an intimate small group setting, making it one of the most personal and immersive Reiki training experiences available on PEI. Each course is a unique journey, shaped by the Reiki energy itself and the collective presence of those who gather.
Over three transformative days, you will be guided through the history, theory, and principles of Reiki, while developing hands on techniques to work with this powerful healing energy for yourself and for others. By the time you leave, you will feel confident, grounded, and genuinely empowered to bring Reiki into your everyday life.
Reiki is about so much more than a certificate. It is about connection. To the energy, to your fellow students, and to your teacher. After certification, you are warmly invited to join Reiki Reunion gatherings throughout the year, as well as the private Red Sands Reiki Graduates Facebook group, where ongoing support, connection, and growth continue long after the course ends.
As space is limited, a deposit is required to reserve your spot. All three days must be attended to receive certification. The course runs Friday from 6pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
For those who have completed First Degree training and feel called to go deeper, Second Degree Reiki Certification is also available. This next step on your Reiki journey introduces sacred symbols, distance healing techniques, and a profound expansion of your spiritual practice and energetic awareness.
